    Other Events and Attributes:

    • Note: 5 Mar 1814; Joseph Wellbank, Tailor, born Malton York, height 5'6", hair black eyes hazel complexion sallow, age 52, total service 35 yrs 9/12, 15 yrs East India Service, incontinence of urine. Royal Hospital Chelsea Pensioner Discharge Records, National Archives [Most pensioners didn't live at the hospital but received their pensions where they lived. No parish record of Joseph's birth in Malton, but as he is listed as a tailor (how can he be a tailor when he's apparently been in the Army since the age of 17?) John, a tailor born 1710 is his most likely father. In Malton at the time there was also John, a tailor born 1735, but he had a son called Joseph in 1770, and therefore wouldn't have had an older son also called Joseph].
